Veterans Donate Patriotic Reading Nook to Bates Fifth Grade Classroom
The Veterans of V.F.W. Post 7310 on Grosse Ile made a generous donation to Brenda Mayes's fifth grade classroom in order to establish a Patriotic Reading and Writing Nook.
In giving the donation, Dale Abbuhl, Commander of the Post, wrote to the fifth graders, "Your thoughts and letters of support have provided inspiration to us for many years. Because of you, we know our country has a bright and secure future."
